Eastgardens is best known simply by its name, taken from the Westfield centre that anchors the suburb and gives it a centre of gravity. Everything else grew up around it.

It's a small, dense pocket carved from Pagewood and Hillsdale, where low brick homes and older brick flats from the 1960s through the 1980s now sit beside the newer Meriton towers off Banks Avenue and Westfield Drive. That mix of old and new stock brings its own plumbing story.
